We are a small family in Northern Ontario, hoping to improve the health and longevity in next generation of European Dobermans in Canada.
we started this journey about 8 years ago now, when my childhood dog Bruce passed away at 16 years old. His hips were no longer able to support his large frame and he was laid to rest peacefully on a quiet July evening.
He was born a Rez dog, most of his litter as well as his mother passing away from heart worms. We took remaining puppies to try and save what we could, Bruce being one of the 4 survivors. I chose him for a small white star on his forehead, his bosterous personality and need for attention. He was my faithful companion through all of our childhood adventures, being a mix of mastiff, boxer, and Heinz 57 he was a sight to behold and not to be trifled with. He was friendly and loved all the neighbour kids, happy to let everyone and anyone pet him for hours. He had saved me countless times from breakout rams with too much testosterone to territorial bears in the forest.
Life wasn't the same without his presence, as a family were heartbroken. It was 6 months until we couldn't take the silence any longer and decided to start looking for our next companion.
Dobermans were instantly a favourite of the breeds, their intimidating appearance, goofy personalities and loving nature put them apart from the rest.
